IDAT102 assignment 1 website

30th November 2006

I’ve just uploaded my website that I designed for our first assignment in IDAT102. The design is really just your bog standard, no thrills site design, which was made in a matter if minutes as it wasn’t the design we were being marked on. Behind the scenes there are a few javascript bits chucked in, which we were being marked on. This includes a calculator, form validation and of course an interactive map. Content wise…

8Balls Online

27th November 2006

Since forever, I’ve been working on the 8Ball-Online website for a few friends in Cornwall. 8Balls is a brand new DVD, documenting bodyboarding from all around the UK. The site isn’t finished yet, and a lot of pages are being worked on by the 8Balls folks themselves, but I have had a hand in the overall site design and development of the site.

The site is using a relatively simple design that I knocked together…

IDAT102: Assignment done

23rd November 2006

I ended up spending pretty much the whole day yesterday working on the IDAT102 website and JavaScript assignment. It turned out to be a little more long winded then I originally anticipated but this only inspired me to go out and drink more afterwards. I felt I had worked hard and earned the right to piss my money up against the wall. Back to the assignment though, I managed to finish all of the tasks, which included a pop up calculator, feedback form validation and an interactive world map. For…

Gears of War

21st November 2006

After anticipating it’s launch for months, I was over the moon to finally go out and buy Gears of War for the xbox 360 on the 17th. The game is based around an inmate named Marcus Fenix who is charged with the task of keeping humanity alive from the Lucust Horde that have risen from the ground and started to kick some serious ass.

The first thing that I have to get off my chest is the fact that this game is probably the best game I have ever played. It’s got absolutely everything.…

IDAT104: Presentation

16th November 2006

I don’t like giving presentations. I especially don’t like giving presentations on subjects that are of little interest to me and that I don’t fully understand. Well I had to give one of those presentations today and it wasn’t much fun. Luckily we were in a group of 4, which sort of moves the attention from the audience around a bit which gave me time to reflect and just generally relax after doing my poorly prepared piece. Another good thing was the room only had about…

IDAT102: Assignment 1

13th November 2006

A bit late posting about this one, but we were given a new assignment for the IDAT102 module a couple week ago which is to design and build a website for people requiring basic information about traveling abroad. The assignment is intended to test our understanding and knowledge of html and basic JavaScript functionality and how they interact with each other.

The website is to include information on 5 different countries of our choice, 1 from each continent. Information such as climate,…
