Things to come
07th November 2006
The past few days I have had a little bit of spare time on my hands and I have been working on a few things that will hopefully be going live in the next week or so.
- Work section
- I’m currently working on a portfolio section to go on this website, rather then just linking to Solution:Web. This isn’t going to be anything fancy, just a simple page focussing on some recent work and projects I have completed.
- New client work
- In a couple weeks time… Continue reading

∞SOFT131: Test results
02nd November 2006
On Monday morning we had our first relatively important test for SOFT131, which counts for 25% for this specific module. The test was on VBScript, which wasn’t so bad. The language doesn’t take very long to pick up and so far the module has been pretty good going.
Well we got our results from the test this afternoon and I’m pretty pleased to say I got 38.5 out of 50 (77%), which as far as I’m aware is the equivalent to a First (more than 70%). As soon as we finished…

31st October 2006
Happy Halloween everybody! My flatmates and I are playing hosts to a halloween party tonight, which could get a little messy. Any Plymouth uni folks reading this are welcome to pop along to the Randor Halls, block 6.2. If you can, try and dress up. I will post some images of what we are dressing up as when we have some. The lads in the flat aren’t sticking to what I would consider to be conventional halloween dressing patterns, but it should be a good laugh.
Hope everyone has fun!…

28th October 2006
A week or so ago I posted about a new assignment for the IDAT103 module, which was to produce a splash page for a weather forecast website. The design had to keep within various constraints set in the brief such as file size, dimensions, etc. My end product can be found here. Overall I’m pleased with the end result, despite it not exactly turning out how I had hoped it would.

My all time favourite playstation game has to be Pro Evolution Soccer 5, and this game has been a big part of my life here at university so far. Myself and housemate Andy set ourselves the huge challenge of winning the Konami Cup on the same team by the 27th of October, 2006 - the day that Pro Evo 6 was to be released. If we failed to make this happen we were banned from buying the new game until we did. So as it happens, the last 4 or 5 weeks have seen us battling it out, heart break after heart…

∞Making the brand
23rd October 2006
I thought it would be cool to talk a little bit about how I came up with the branding for danieloliver.co.uk. Why I did certain things the way I did and the process of putting all of my ideas together to get to the final result you see on this site currently.
Having designed numerous other personal websites before such as Solution:Web and JustDan, I was looking to break away from the two brands that I had already created and make a fresh start. danieloliver.co.uk was a completely new…
