IDAT102: Assignment 2

We were handed our new assignment brief for the IDAT102 module. This assignment is intended test our understanding of basic animation, drawing and coding with Flash .

We are required to create an interactive movie poster using flash which will provide information on the movie and promote it by creating an engaging experience for the user. We have to make use of buttons and the relevant ActionScript to allow the user to interact with various elements. Additional movie information must be accessible via buttons, this information can be in the form of text or images.  We are also to use animation to engage the user, transforming the poster from a flat image to an engaging piece of media.

Now I quite like the idea of this assignment and have decided so far that I am going to do a movie poster for horror movie, Saw 3. I haven’t actually seen the film yet but I have seen the previous two and plenty of trailers for the new one so it shouldn’t be too much trouble coming up with something appropriate for the film. I will post when it’s finished, but the deadline isn’t until January. I have actually made a start though as I’m determined I will not have to suffer from last minute panic like I have with previous modules, being up will the early hours of the morning working.
