The life of a student: First impressions
10th October 2006
It’s been almost 4 weeks since I first moved into my halls here at the University of Plymouth. It’s unreal how quick the time has gone since coming up here but it’s been brilliant. The course seems really good and shows a lot of promise and as for my house mates, well they are just awesome. It’s been pretty much none stop fun so far and hopefully it will continue that way.
I already feel as though I have become a lot more independent, but I’m probably kidding myself. Thinking about it, I’ve been pretty much eating nothing but super noodles, pot noodles and toasted bacon sandwiches. All of which taste great, but pretty soon I’m going to end up turning into a noodle or a rasher of bacon. I need to experiment a little more and perhaps venture out of my comfort zone and try cooking something “proper”.
The last few days I have spent a lot of time looking at various design work and reading a number of different design publications. All of which has massively inspired me and I have a load of new ideas that I want to try out soon. Hopefully in the next few days I will be able to find the time to sit down and really try to design something, putting all my effort into it. Paying close attention to detail and spending more time on it until I am happy with the end product. When in the right frame of mind I find I’m inspired by the most simple things. It’s annoying to be honest because I have too many things I want to try and this results in me starting something and not seeing it through till the end or just rushing it and then starting on something else.
I don’t know. My head is fried. Too much going on, too many thoughts. Not enough time.
